plastICS- partnering with Taronga zoo

plastICS is so excited to be partnering with Taronga Zoo. Kate Nairn from Taronga Conservation Society is featuring plastICS as a major case study in their online toolkit set to go out to at least 100 schools on June 8th- World Oceans Day!! Yesterday plastICS were privileged to spend a day at the zoo researching and further understanding the impact of plastic pollution on our wildlife.

While it was lovely enjoying the gorgeous seals, penguins and turtles, it was devastating to hear about the damaging effects of plastic waste!!

We were told that 90% of all seabirds have ingested plastic!!!

80% of all turtles that come to Taronga's animal hospital are due to plastic ingestion or entanglement!!!

We saw first hand the effects. Animals are dying EVERY DAY because of humans' actions.

We CAN make a difference but it needs to be NOW and it needs to be ALL of us!!

Please consider your plastic usage!
