Dr Karen Raubenheimer

Dr Karen Raubenheimer from the University of Wollongong has worked with us so that we fully understand not only the environmental impact of soft plastics, but also the economic, social and industrial factors that surround the issue. Her advice and support has been invaluable and we are truly grateful for her time and expertise. Dr Raubenheimer is a world renowned oceanographer and expert in plastic pollution. Karen knows all of the facts. Learn more about Karen and what is happening here:

Wollongong Council

We are very grateful to Wollongong city council for their willingness to work with us for the good of our region. Mrs Fiona Netting Environmental Promotions Coordinator has met with the plastICS team several times to help us to understand the issues locally and to link up with other organisations.

Currently all recycled plastic is taken to Replas via the Redcycle recycling program. The plastICS team would like to recommend Replas products. Unless we rally together to buy recycled plastic products, the cycle of pollution will continue.

Replas

"Wow after reading about your efforts I must say I am lost for words. Your work certainly shows a well-run concept with passion being the main driver. Very impressed!" Mark Jacobsen Director Replas

plastICS would like to thank replas for donating a bench seat for our school.

NevHouse

We are delighted to announce that we have been in discussion with NevHouse and plan to have our soft plastics turned into pre-fabricated homes made from recycled plastic.

NevHouse converts plastic waste into sustainable and affordable housing. This is a two-fold solution that reduces plastic pollution as well as contributing towards solving a housing crisis.

plastICS would like to thank Nev for his support and look forward to working in conjunction with him when he develops a local recycling plant... Watch this space!!!

The plastICS team is very thankful to the team at Dee Kramer photography for supporting us in our quest to show our community how beautiful God's world is through the power of photography.

Dee is supporting our secondary photography competition by helping to judge and by offering the winner a photography session.

"After more than 15 years of photographing, my passion is getting stronger and I'm more dedicated to capturing God's beauty than ever before. " Dee Kramer

Securing a shared future for wildlife and people

I am running a campaign to help schools ditch single-use plastic and reduce litter for our marine wildlife. I am very impressed with the work and profile of plastICS, and would to use your group as a case study in a toolkit I am preparing. The toolkit has a range of resources to guide classes and schools to reduce waste and plastic use, just as you have done. Kate Nairn- Taronga Conservation Society

plastICS is excited that we will be working with Taronga Conservation Society to educate Australian schools. We will feature in their toolkit to schools and businesses. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
