A team from Illawarra Christian School is reducing plastic pollution and educating others to follow suit
...for over a year the Illawarra Christian School (ICS) year 8 girls have been working to educate local families about the devastating effects of soft-plastic in our oceans and in landfill.

plastICS is awarded the Wollongong City Council Rise and Shine award for "Contribution toward improving the city's environment in 2017". Presented by Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbury
plastICS were awarded 3rd place Australia wide for our project and passion. We will take our message to the world at the International Future Problem Solving Championships in the US in June 2018.

We are thrilled that ABC Me has filmed the plastICS story to feature on our National Television during Plastic-Free July.
plastICS were featured as a case study in Taronga Zoo's "Plastic Free Ocean" toolkit.

plastICS were invited to Internationals in Wisconsin, America. We presented our project.... and won! We came first in our division and category.
